Qualcomm Academy and Smart Forum (SF) are thrilled to announce a groundbreaking joint initiative to bring Qualcomm Technologies’ premium 5G training and certification to students and professionals in the region. Through a newly signed agreement, university students will receive free 5G training and have the opportunity to earn a 5G certification.
This initiative aims to equip university-level students with essential 5G skills and knowledge, thereby enhancing their job prospects within the 5G digital ecosystem. Under this program, students will have access to the Qualcomm Academy eLearning platform, where they can learn at their own pace, entirely online.
Program Structure
The 5G training program comprises two key modules:
- University Program Courses
- 5G Introductory-Level Certification Exam (based on University Program courses)
University Program Courses: Consisting of two courses, these modules focus on the fundamentals of 5G technology, catering to both engineering and non-engineering students. They provide a basic understanding of what 5G is and how it functions, as well as its impact on modern communication and business practices. The training is delivered online, self-paced, and taught by experienced engineers from Qualcomm Technologies, Inc.
Enrollment and Certification
Enroll in Free 5G Training: University students can enroll in two free beginner-level 5G courses: “5G Primer” and “Fundamentals of Cellular Communication and 5G.” These courses cover the basics of 5G, including how it works and its various use cases.
Introductory-Level Certificate in 5G: After completing the two free courses, students can opt to take the Qualcomm Academy 5G Introductory-Level Certification Exam. Successfully passing this exam earns them a 5G Certificate from Qualcomm Technologies, which demonstrates their understanding of 5G basics to potential employers.
Obtain an Associate-Level Certificate in 5G: Following the introductory-level certification, students can pursue an associate-level certification in 5G. This rigorous certification is ideal for those aiming to build a career in 5G technology. It prepares students to work as industry-ready associate-level wireless engineers.
